Here is a list of things I can hear humming in my apartment right now:

  • The fish tank's water filter
  • Two ceiling fans
  • One floor fan hanging from the ceiling and pointed at the guest loft
  • The media server (all of our movies and music are on the network, and hooked up to the Xbox)
  • My laptop
  • 4 compact fluorescents and 3 fluorescent tubes
  • The television downstairs
  • Human pitter-patter
  • Dog panting and pitter-patter

OK, I'm done procrastinating and will do my laundry now.

Some things I've done

  • Built awesome websites for Atlas Obscura, Sawhorse Media, Echo Atlanta, and others.
  • Thru-hiked the Applachian Trail from Georgia to Maine (6 months, 2174 miles)
  • Thru-hiked the Cohos Trail with my girlfriend (2 weeks, 162 miles)
  • Built TrailPhone.net, a phone / map system for Appalachian Trail hikers
  • Produced a podcast called Dailysonic and a series of 1-minute radio dramas called Fuck You Robot
  • Created an immersive sound play for planetariums called The Somnium
  • Lived, studied, gardened, watched birds in Israel for a year
  • Played crunchy ambient music on the subway
  • Adopted a dog named Alex
